DOT TO DOT APP

For my app design I choose to do an app for an event. My event choice was the dot to dot event, an event that originated in nottingham and has spread to other cities in the UK including bristol. On the right are examples of my development process for the app. Starting with the initial layout of the app and progressing with aesthetical features and the qwecking of content. All stages of the development process can be seen in the PDF download for this section on the work page.

Throughout the app's design my idea was to promote the event but also tell people to avoid it. This went through a few stages and was originally part of the distance and area pages on the navigation although later moved from the navigation all together. The avoidance part of the app now works as three separate pages show above. The pages activated when someone is within 400 metres or less of a venue and don't allow access to any other part of the app thus making the user left the area before being able to use the app again. Im not sure if this would make users avoid dot to dot although I felt it was a good way to show app furnaces geo-location capablities.

To test out the app. Download app furnace and scan in the QR code.
